How to determine the hour in Zhou Yi's prediction?

2. For the areas not listed in this table, the flat solar time can be calculated according to the local longitude. The principle is based on the longitude of 120 degrees east, and 4 minutes for each decrease of 1 degree and 4 minutes for each increase of 1 degree. Located at 105 degrees east longitude, 105-120 = -15 degrees, -15 degrees × 4 minutes = -60 minutes, the local average solar time is subtracted from Beijing time by 60 minutes; if a place is located at 130 degrees east longitude, 130-120 = 10 degrees, 10 degrees x 4 minutes = 40 minutes, then the local average solar time uses Beijing time plus 40 minutes, and so on. If the longitude of a certain place cannot be determined, a rough way is to find the neighbouring cities based on the areas listed in the table above to determine the time difference value.
3. The time calculated according to this table is the flat solar time, and the true solar time must be further calculated to determine the time.

The local time calculated from the longitude of a place from the table above is called the flat solar time, and it is not the true solar time. Because the orbit of the earth around the sun is elliptical, the rotation period of the earth relative to the sun is not very uniform. Within a year, some periods are faster, and some periods are slower. On average, they are equivalent to 24 hours a day, which is called flat solar time, and 365 days a year.
